Wow! I thought I have seen it all…but now having a robot bring you a beer of choice and even opening it for you….

Wow!  Yes I know it is a long video…but pretty impressive robotic technology.  I have never seen a robot function so well with commands.  Now all we need is…”Robot…Go to work for me”  :)

At ILTCI 2010 (Intercompany Long Term Care Insurance Conference), New Orleans March 14th-17th, Robosoft will present Kompaï for the first time, a robot specifically designed to assist dependent persons at home. This robot can speak, understand what is said to it, find its way around the house and, with just a word, access all internet services. This very first version is called Kompaï R&D, is intended for developers who want to implement their own robotics application for assistance of dependent persons

It won’t officially launch until May, but we’re already guessing that the folks over at DaVinci are casting quizzical glances towards BeBionic. The UK-based outfit is teasing what it calls the “next generation of fully articulated myo-electric hands,” which are said to provide “a range of naturally compliant grip patterns that provide repeatable accuracy” to those who have lost their own hand(s). Better still, the functions (speed, grip force, grip patterns, etc.) can be customized to suit each individual user, and the integrated wireless chip means that said tweaking can take place sans any troubling USB cables. The company’s also planning to reveal the planet’s first powered wrist with rotation capabilities as well as flexion / extension, and the range just wouldn’t be complete without silicone skin available in 19 tones.
